Why I Wanted To Be A Graphic Design Major!!

Well gosh, where do I start when it comes to being a graphic design major and why I chose to be one.. well to be honest it all started from a very young age I was always so interested in Art and my chilhood consisted of continuously filling coloring books up with marker, colored pencil, and crayon (my favorite as a child) as well as drawing I was very interested in the ways things looked, and composition. I used to always layout my barbie dream house with different furniture designs and make new bed sheets and pillow cases so that Barbie would always have a new design to spice up her dream house. Being a creative child has led me to become a creative adult and my parents and the school's I went to also led me to the place I am at today.

In high school (I went to Blue Valley North in Overland Park, KS) I was in heaven with how many art classes i had access to and took nearly everything that I had time for. Ranging from interior design, fashion, graphics 1, 2, and 3, Photography, Digital Photography, and drawing and painting I have covered a large span of Art in my 4 years at high school and it was not until my Junior year that I finally came to the decision of Graphic Design after a KU student came to talk to my Graphics class, her name was Mallissa Oliver and after seeing what she had accomplished just shortly after graduating from KU I wanted to do nothing other than Graphic Design for well, the rest of my life. After that point and a lot of research about the Graphic Design program here at KU I began to put together a portfolio to turn in the fall/winter semester of my senior year. And now look at me now, sitting in the Watson Library writing about why I have chosen to be a Graphic Design major.

Talk to you guys soon!!

Summary of the IDEO movie

MOVIE TIME!!
After watching the IDEO video it was easy to recognize that creative ideas in the workplace stem from being subjected to a fun and stimulating environment. For example the bikes being placed on the ceiling and how the offices could be taken apart and wheeled across the floor would make the work place very easy to work with and with that idea going for them its no surprise that they have been coming up with amazing ideas for such a long time and have such loyal and large companies coming to them with projects. Also there work environment stimulated them and encouraged them to come up with crazy ideas, and in the end these ideas can lead to usable ones.

2. After holding and testing the object do you find any positive characteristics?
3. After holding and testing the object do you find any negative characteristics?
4. Have you ever used this product before? If so, please explain your experience
5. Can you tell me any parts of this object you would like to see be changed?

Audrey Young:
1. The product conveys a tan look with the dark brown color, though I don’t want to ever be that tan I think the bottle is aesthetically pleasing.
2. The only thing I like about this bottle is that it is small enough around that I can fit my hand around it.
3. Things I do not like about this bottle, after using it many times I have learned that you have to place it in a plastic bag just to transport it because the lid always falls of and the bottle will then preceded to leek oil all over the place. Also the ridges are too high up they feel awkward when your trying to use it, and the bottle can not be sprayed when its on its side or upside down.
4. Yes, I never have liked this style of bottle, its always requires more work than I want to put in
5. I would want a different style grip and a different lid that actually stayed on.
